Al Habib awarded prestigious ‘Superbrands’ status

Al Habib is celebrating being honored with ‘Superbrand’ status and will be presented with the award in a ‘Superbrands’ tribute event scheduled for late January 2010.
In Oman, Superbrands shortlisted 743 brands from over 3,000 brands being sold. These were then rated by a well qualified independent and voluntary Superbrands Council through a demanding and meticulous evaluation process according to the specific program criteria that ‘a Superbrand offers consumers significant emotional and/or physical advantages over its competitors which consumers want and recognize’. Of these 743 shortlisted brands, only 17 were deemed ‘superbrands’ by the panel.
Hayyan Al Lawati, Director of Al Habib commented: “I speak for everyone at Al Habib when I say how proud I am of this Superbrands award. We have worked hard to build a quality brand that consumers can trust and return to again and again, and it means a lot to us that our hard work has been recognized by such an esteemed programme as Superbrands. The award only serves to motivate us to maintain our excellent level of service to customers even further.”
The influential Superbrands programme was established in 1994 is now the world's leading by invitation only brand promotional platform. Currently running in 84 countries, Oman was evaluated for the first time this year. Al Habib were selected as a Superbrand following a detailed decision process by the local brand council; a panel of prominent marketing experts in the Sultanate.
Explaining the concept and the role of Superbrands status, Bikram Sehgal, Brand Liaison Director, Superbrands said: “A brand’s strength lies in its equity and its relationship with its consumers. Hence the Superbrands status is of paramount importance because it is a sign of your recognition with the consumers. I commend Al Habib for all its efforts over the years which has helped it emerge as a Superbrand. Needless to say, this recognition speaks volumes about its current equity with its consumers and its ongoing success in this dynamic market.”
